Canon Corner is vlak achter de kathedraal te vinden. De naam is door Dickens nauwelijks
veranderd 'Minor Canon Row' is wat er op de kaart staat vermeld. De beschrijven is volledig
in overeenstemming met de werkelijkheid
Vines Park is het park waar Edwin de eigenaresse van de opium kit ontmoette. Dickens
maakte er Monk's vineyard van. De foto's die op het net staan geven de indruk dat het niet
bijzonder stadpark is. Er staat nog wel een beeld, zo te zien van een monnik. Aangezien er
geen datum wordt vermeld is niet duidelijk of dit voor of na 1870 is geplaatst. De stijl geeft de
indruk dat het nog niet zo vreselijk oud is.

cawing of the rooks, the echoing footsteps of rare
passers, the sound of the Cathedral bell, or the roll of the
Cathedral organ, seemed to render more quiet than
absolute silence
