(G.H.C.Begg, for the Leamington Society;)
Dear Sir,
On behalf of the Chairman and Committee of the
an no doubt our
Leamington Society, may I thank you very warmly for the kind
gift of a fine old map, which has reached us through the good
offices of Vr. Peter Parton, Chairman of the International
Friendship Society. Something tangible like this map immediately
makes an impression over and above the general idea of friendship
links between towns like Heemstede and Leamington Spa,
which many of ue had probably read in our local paper without
particular attention. We are therefore both grateful and more
aware of the possibilities of personal contacts between members
of your Society and ours. Nay I say at once that if any of your
officers or members plan to visit Leamington, my Committee
would be glad to know so that we can offer our hospitality and
take the opportunity of exchanging views and ideas. I imagine
that your Society finds in the precervation of its historic
buildings problems similar to those
brochures may also strike a responsive note
interests and activities will turn out to be similar.
