179 house Museum in the country, and we hope that all members of the Dickens Fellowship will once again rally to its support! Your donation will not only be used to help us to pay for the most urgent conservation projects at the Museum but will also help us to create a visitor experience that will inspire future generations of readers. We need L3.1 million to deliver a comprehensive project of restoration work, new exhibition displays, public events programmes and improvements to the buildings and collections. An application for L2m has been submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund where a decision on our project will be made in November 2010. The substantial amount of planning work for this project bas n that we are only now in a position to start our main fundraising push. I am sorry that this letter comes now as a rather urgent request. We will only stand a chance of securing public funding if we can demonstrate that we have a substantial amount of matched funding, which we aim to raise from trusts and foundations and from concerned individuals. We now need all the support you can give us to unlock funding from the Lottery. Your help is vital at a time when raising funds is harder than ever before. If you are able to make a donation today whether you know the Museum as a regular visitor, a researcher, or an enthusiastic reader of Dickens please do help us protect what bas been and still is one of the greatest achievements of the Dickens Fellowship. Your gift will help us to convince the Heritage Lottery Fund that Dickens is still as relevant and as loved by readers as he bas always been. The Museum will be an international centre for the bicentenary of Dickens's birth in 2012. We want to ensure that its building and collections are available to as many people as possible in what is going to be a spectacular celebration of the Inimitable. With the support of Dickens Fellowship members like you, we can seize this one-off opportunity to protect and promote Dickens's only surviving London home so that we can all enjoy it for years to come. Please be as generous as you can. We need to hear from you by 15 November to ensure that we can update the Heritage Lottery Fund on our fundraising efforts before they make a decision. Thank you very much. Yours in fellowship, Florian Schweizer Director www.dickensmuseum.com To be a Friend email to: 2012(5 dickensmuseum.com
